Moscovici for Varoufakis: Plan B was nonsense

European Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Pierre Moscovici said on Wednesday that Varoufakis's Plan B was nonsense.

"There is no sense. All that he said is absurd" Moscovici told Europe 1 radio referring to a plan by Greece's ex-finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis to launch a parallel payment system in the event of the country being ejected from the euro.

"A Plan B? All this is domestic politics, a career plan. This is perhaps a plan C for Mr. Varoufakis" Moscovici said. He further added that The European Commission does not control the Greek tax system disputing a central claim by Varoufakis that Greece’s creditors had control of the computer systems of the tax offices, forcing him to consider hacking into it.

Moscovici also said that talks on a third bailout plan for Greece were taking place in "good conditions" and that there’s no longer the risk of Greece leaving the eurozone.

"Grexit is behind us," the Commissioner noted in the interview.
