A total of 324,000 citizens who completed vaccination 7 months ago with a one- or two-dose vaccine no longer have a valid vaccination certificate as of today, Primary Health Care Secretary General Marios Themistocleous said on Monday, until they receive a booster shot.
According to current Greek regulations, the vaccination certificates are valid for 7 months from the day of the second vaccination for those who received the double-dose vaccines, and 3 months for those with the single-shot vaccines. Booster shots may be administered 3 months after a completed vaccination.
During a regular briefing, the Health official also said that of those aged 60 years or older, 91% have been vaccinated. In addition, of 5,820,000 who qualify for a booster shot, 4,960,000 have already received it and another 146,000 have scheduled an appointment for it.
In Greece, Themistocleous said, over 19.6 million vaccinations have taken place and 70.3% of the general population has completed its two-dose vaccination.
