The United Arab Emirates’ Fursan Al Emarat aerobatic team will make its Greek debut at the Athens Flying Week, performing with seven new Chinese-built Hongdu L-15 jets over the Tanagra air base on Sept. 5–6.
Known as the “Knights of the Emirates,” the team will execute high-precision aerobatics and gravity-defying maneuvers at breathtaking speeds, trailing biodegradable smoke in the UAE flag colors—red, green, white and black.

The L-15 jets will fly in tight formations, with wings just meters apart, performing loops, close crossings, vertical climbs and dives.
The smoke used is fully eco-friendly and dissolves naturally without residue, aligning with international “green aviation” standards.
Beyond the Emirati display, the show features a Finnish F-18 Hornet, Spanish and German Eurofighter Typhoons, Belgian and German A400M transports, Austrian and Slovenian Pilatus trainers, Canadian parachutists, an Italian AW-139 helicopter and a static F-35. Greek forces will showcase ASEP E, M-346, Mirage 2000-5, Rafale, F-4 Phantom, F-16 Zeus, T-6 Daedalus, Apache, Kiowa, NH-90, Chinook, S-70 Aegean Hawk and MH-60 Romeo aircraft.
Special operations units from the Hellenic National Defence General Staff will demonstrate operational capabilities, while Aegean Airlines and Olympic Air will stage surprise flights.
Civilian acts include world champion Luca Bertossio, Frank Van Houten and the National Technical University’s Euroavia team.
The event, hosted by the 114th Combat Wing at Tanagra, marks the return of Greece’s largest air show, drawing thousands of spectators for a weekend of international military and civilian aviation displays
