Two earthquakes struck off the island of Kasos in the southeastern Aegean Sea over the weekend, the Geodynamic Institute of Athens reported, with no damage or injuries recorded in either event.
A magnitude 3.7 quake hit at 06:54 on Saturday, May 30, with its epicenter 33 kilometres west of Kasos at a depth of 10.5 kilometres.
A slightly weaker magnitude 3.5 tremor followed at 12:35 on Sunday, May 31, centred 25 kilometres west of the island at a depth of 18.3 kilometres. Kasos is the southernmost island of the Dodecanese, situated between Crete and Karpathos.
