More than 30 people sustained minor injuries after a tram collided with a stationary city bus in the port city of Piraeus, authorities said.

The tram's operator, Athens Urban Rail Transport (STASY), said in a statement that the driver reported feeling unwell moments before the crash.

According to the company, the tram's emergency braking system was activated before the collision, which limited its severity.

The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when the tram struck the back of a bus at a stop near Karaiskakis Stadium.

An eyewitness said the tram did not appear to be moving at high speed.

Emergency services responded to the scene, and officials confirmed that none of the injuries were considered serious.
