Three brothers implicated in last week’s deadly vendetta in the Cretan village of Vorizia have been ordered to be held in pretrial detention after testifying before an investigating magistrate.

The three men—aged 27, 29, and 19—are members of the Fragkiadakis family.

The 19-year-old is reportedly a serving soldier. All three were remanded in custody immediately after giving their depositions.

The testimony was originally scheduled for Monday but was moved up.

The magistrate traveled to the Heraklion Police Directorate, where the brothers have been held since surrendering to authorities last week.

According to police sources, the three men are expected to be transferred to prisons off of Crete for security reasons.

This follows the similar transfer of two other members of the same family who had been hospitalized under guard following the incident.

The violent case stems from a long-running feud between the Fragkiadakis and Kargakis families, which escalated with an explosion and shootout that left two dead.

Authorities said two suspects from the Kargakis family are expected to testify on Monday.

The deadly clash has prompted the Greek government to announce nationwide reforms to tighten firearms regulations.
