The Development Ministry is proceeding, for the first time, with the return of funds from investments under previous development laws that were not completed, implementing the commitment of Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos, to full transparency and accountability, according to an announcement on Tuesday.
Theodorikakos stated: "We had committed to returning to the Greek taxpayer the funds that were granted in the past under the development law for investments that were not completed. Some doubted it at the time. Today, we announce that the Development Ministry has already sent to the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) the first 43 million euros.
We are continuing, at the same intensive pace, the inspections and recoveries in the coming weeks because we are obliged to make transparency and accountability a reality, so that the money of Greek citizens is directed to genuine productive investments that create jobs and drive strong growth in our country."
