The temperatures soared above 40 degrees Celsius on Friday in Greece, according to the data of the National Observatory of Athens / meteo.gr.
The highest temperature was recorded in Skala, Messinia (43.2C), followed by Asteri, Lakonia, and Aegies, Laconia (41.6C). The temperature exceeded 40C at 39 of the 530 active stations, 37C at 233 stations and 35C at 354 stations.
The temperature also exceeded 40C in Athens and the surrounding areas. The highest maximum was recorded in Salamina (40.8C), followed by Vlychada(40.6C) and Harokopio, Kallithea (40.5C).
