A serious traffic accident in the popular tourist resort of Faliraki on the island of Rhodes has resulted in a leg amputation for a German woman and light injuries for her husband after a 19-year-old driver struck the couple.
The incident occurred as the pair were walking in the area.
According to local reports, the teenager lost control of the vehicle and hit the two tourists. Emergency services responded quickly, and the victims were transported to Rhodes General Hospital.
Doctors confirmed that the woman sustained critical injuries to her lower limb, requiring amputation.
Her husband suffered less severe injuries and is in stable condition.
Police arrested the 19-year-old driver at the scene. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the crash.
