King Mr. Felipe and Queen Ms. Letizia are on a private family vacation in Greece, where they are reportedly staying at the summer villa of the Dutch royal family, highlighting the close ties between the two monarchies, according to Spanish media.
The Spanish royals, accompanied by their daughters Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, arrived in Greece last week.
They are believed to be guests of Dutch King Mr. Willem-Alexander and Queen Ms. Máxima at their secluded estate in Kranidi, in the Peloponnese.
According to Ms. Andrea Caamaño, a director at Hello magazine, the family's trips to Greece represent a "genuine retreat away from the public eye," unlike their more official summer holiday in Mallorca.
The visit underscores the warm relationship between the two royal families, which was strengthened last year when the Dutch princess, Catharina-Amalia, lived in Madrid for a year due to security threats.
