The Stavros Niarchos Foundation has opened its largest cultural event to date, launching an eight-day festival at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center to mark 30 years of global philanthropic work.
Running through June 28, SNF Nostos 2026 is built around the theme “Humanity at the Core” and brings together more than 200 speakers and artists from 30 countries for over 150 hours of panels, workshops, performances and sports events.
Among the festival’s headline events is a discussion hosted by SNF Chairman Andreas Dracopoulos, with NBA champion Giannis Antetokounmpo and Olympic pole vaulter Emmanouil “Manolo” Karalis on the importance of support networks in sport.
Other featured names include actors Willem Dafoe and Jason Isaacs, Monty Python co-founder John Cleese and musician Jean-Michel Jarre.
Mr. Dracopoulos said the foundation aims to create an open forum on issues including health care, mental health, artificial intelligence and the protection of democratic institutions.
He said SNF has supported more than 5,700 grants in 137 countries since it was founded.
The event, co-curated with the journalism nonprofit iMEdD, also features concerts by David Byrne and Gorillaz in partnership with Release Athens. Admission to the main panels and workshops is free.
Organizers said the program is designed to mix public discussion, culture and performance in a single civic event, reflecting the foundation’s long-running global footprint while keeping the focus on accessible participation.
