Severe weather continues; risk assessment committee convenes

The Risk Assessment Committee reconvened on Thursday as severe weather conditions persist and are expected to continue until Friday.

According to its member scientists, heavy rainfall and thunderstorms will gradually decrease from Thursday evening, remaining mainly over central and eastern Macedonia and Thrace. On Friday, the adverse weather is forecast to extend to the East Aegean islands and the Dodecanese. The Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection announced that the state mechanism remains on full operational readiness to address any emergencies that may arise.
