Very high fire risk (category 4) has been forecasted for Wednesday across several regions, including Attica, Crete, parts of Central Greece, Peloponnese and Northern Aegean, according to the Fire Risk Prediction Map issued by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
The areas under the very high fire risk warning include:
Region of Attica (including Kythera island)
Region of Central Greece (Boeotia, Evia)
Region of Peloponnese (Corinth, Argolis, Laconia)
Region of Crete
Region of Northern Aegean (Lesbos, Chios, Samos, Ikaria)
General Secretariat for Civil Protection has notified relevant state services, as well as the regions and municipalities within these areas, to be on high alert for potential fire incidents. Advises citizens to exercise extreme caution and avoid any activities in the countryside that could inadvertently ignite fires.
