The presentation of the route of metro line 2 in the Municipality of Acharnes took place during an event on Monday.
Speakers at the event included, among others, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport (responsible for Transport) Vassilis Oikonomou, and the Deputy Minister responsible for Infrastructure Nikos Tachiaos.
"The plan for the extension of metro line 2 to the Municipality of Acharnes marks a historic moment for the area and a project of multifaceted significance for Attica," said Oikonomou, emphasizing that the metro will not only improve the lives of the residents but also boost the local economy by creating new development opportunities.
Tachiaos stated that the investigation of the metro's access to the Municipality of Acharnes was initiated by the Prime Minister himself. "At this stage, we cannot provide timelines." "The only thing I can say is that at this moment Hellenic Metro S.A. has been instructed to run the design and proceed with the feasibility and viability study of the project," he said.
