Greece’s ruling New Democracy party has extended its lead over a fragmented opposition to an estimated 30.1% in a new poll, buoyed by voter support for Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ foreign policy and proposed constitutional overhauls.

The survey, conducted by GPO for news portal iefimerida, places New Democracy at 24.9% in raw voting intention, which projects to 30.1% when adjusted for undecided voters. The socialist PASOK party trails at 13.2%, followed by the leftist Course of Freedom (Plefsi Eleftherias) at 11.1% and the far-right Greek Solution (Elliniki Lysi) at 10.9%.

The main opposition Syriza has plummeted to just 5.6%.

Mr. Mitsotakis received his highest approval ratings in foreign affairs. While 76.4% of respondents still view Turkey as a major threat, half (50.7%) agreed that high-level summits are essential for stability.

Specifically, 43.9% viewed Mr. Mitsotakis’ recent February meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan positively.

The poll also highlighted broad support for the government’s constitutional reform agenda. Over 71% backed amending the law on ministerial liability, and 64.6% supported establishing a single, non-renewable six-year term for the country’s president.

However, public opinion remains split on the issue of private universities, with 51.3% opposed.

Despite the ruling party's dominance, signs of voter fatigue are emerging ahead of the 2027 elections.

Approximately 68% of respondents said they would prefer a change in government after the current term concludes.

However, skepticism regarding a potential center-left coalition remains high, with 54.1% doubting such an alliance could win power.

Potential new political movements led by figures such as former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras showed limited initial appeal, polling well below 20%.
