Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has reiterated his call for Turkey to withdraw its formal threat of war against Greece and warned Israel that its conduct in Gaza is alienating its strategic partners.

By Kostas Efthymiadis

In his weekly social media address, Mr. Mitsotakis summarized his key foreign policy messages from New York.

He stressed that Greece is a "pillar of stability" in the region but is also modernizing its defenses with upgraded F-16s, Rafale jets, and new naval acquisitions.

On domestic issues, the prime minister acknowledged the ongoing hunger strike of Panos Routsis, the father of a victim of the Tempi rail disaster.

He said that the state "must stand sensitively with those in pain, even amid criticism."

Mr. Mitsotakis also highlighted a series of upcoming domestic initiatives, including an automatic annual rent refund for up to one million tenants, expanded digital schooling programs, and new legislation to improve hospital staffing.
