A fiscal margin of 600 million euros is estimated to be possible for Greece, if the exemption of defence spending from the restrictions set by the expenditure ceilings in the European framework are applied, the Minister of National Economy and Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis said on Monday addressing Ikonomikos Tachydromos Forum.
Kyriakos Pierrakakis, referred to the government's tax policy plans, clarifying that the abolition of ENFIA (the Single Property Tax) is not among the current priorities of the economic team. He noted that the focus is on measures aimed at enhancing transparency, improving the efficiency of tax administration, and reducing tax evasion.
Regarding the informal economy, Pierrakakis estimated that it has declined significantly in recent years, from levels of 30% of GDP to possibly less than 15%, which is attributed to a series of digital and institutional interventions.
