Parliament plenary debated two ratification bills on Tuesday evening, one for the Igoumenitsa port in western Greece and one amending the concession for the Thessaloniki port.
Both ratification bills are included in a bill by the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy. The bill was supported by ruling New Democracy, main opposition SYRIZA and PASOK-KINAL had reserved judgment during the first readings, while all other parties rejected it. SYRIZA's rapporteur said the party was leaning toward voting it down.
The Igoumenitsa and Thessaloniki ports bills are titled "Ratification of the March 29, 2023 amendment and codification of the concession agreement between the Greek public and the 'Port Authority of Igoumenitsa SA' - Ratification of the March 29, 2023 amendment agreement between the Greek public and the 'Port Authority of Thessaloniki SA'".
Voting on it was expected to be concluded on Tuesday night.
