Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan is more than halfway through production on his epic reimagining of Homer’s "Odyssey," with more than half of the IMAX-shot film already completed, according to a report by World of Reel.
The ambitious project, budgeted at a reported $250 million, began filming five months ago.
The film features Matt Damon in the iconic role of Odysseus, charting the harrowing journey home after the Trojan War. It is being shot entirely in IMAX by longtime Nolan collaborator Mr. Hoyte van Hoytema, known for his work on "Dunkirk" and "Oppenheimer."
Nolan’s "Odyssey" boasts one of the most star-studded casts in recent memory. Alongside Mr. Damon, the ensemble includes Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o, Jon Bernthal, Mia Goth, Samantha Morton, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, and Charlize Theron.
Production has already wrapped key sequences in Greece, Morocco, Italy, and Los Angeles.
The next leg of the shoot will move to Scotland, where post-war Ithaca and mythical landscapes are expected to be brought to life.
The film marks Nolan’s most mythological and visually audacious project to date, blending ancient narrative with cutting-edge filmmaking.
A release date has not yet been announced, but anticipation is already building for what may become one of the most talked-about cinematic events in years.
