Greece’s ruling New Democracy party has widened its lead over rivals, reaching 30% in a new vote estimate released Wednesday that suggests the government is benefiting from recent high-profile energy agreements.
The Pulse poll for Skai TV indicates New Democracy now holds a commanding 16-point advantage over second-place Pasok, which stands at 14%.
The nationalist Hellenic Solution follows at 10%, with the Communist Party (KKE) and Plefsi Eleftherias tied at 8.5%. The main opposition Syriza has fallen to 6.5%.
Analysts attribute the government's momentum to energy deals signed at Zappeion earlier this month, including major U.S.-Greece LNG infrastructure agreements.
According to the data, 59% of respondents view these developments positively. Support for the deals is particularly high among voters over 60 and those identifying as center-right.
However, the political landscape remains fluid regarding potential challengers.
The poll found that 24% of voters would view a new party led by former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras positively, a figure that has risen four points since last month.
Similarly, a hypothetical movement led by former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras draws positive views from 16% of respondents, primarily appealing to disillusioned conservative voters.
