For the 5th consecutive year National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is among the 100 best universities in the "Top Universities by Top Google Scholar Citations" ranking of Webometrics.
National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with a total of 2,724,009 citations of its academic staff, has been ranked in 91st worldwide, 18th in Europe, 2nd in the Mediterranean, as well as occupying first place in Greece and the Balkans. The specific ranking includes 7497 universities, including 24 in Greece.
At the top of the ranking are Harvard University, followed by Stanford, California Berkeley and MIT and the UK's Cambridge University in 5th place.
