Some 14,000 citizens have downloaded the 'MyCoast' government application to report violations of beach space by businesses, since its activation on April 29, according to information on Tuesday.
The app had been presented by Ministers of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou, National Economy & Economics Kostis Hatzidakis last month. It allows citizens to report any business owners who violate officially licensed spaces on public beaches to authorities, and complaints can be reported by name or anonymously.
Nearly 500 complaints have been filed through the app, which is available free of charge for cellphones and tablets through the App Store and Play Store, and uses GPS to identify location.
