Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has confirmed that national elections will be held at the end of his government's full four-year term in 2027, ruling out any possibility of an early vote.

During his annual press conference at the Thessaloniki International Fair, Mr. Mitsotakis also stated he has "no intention whatsoever to change the electoral law."

He added, "I believe in single-party governments, and the Greek people have entrusted us twice now to govern."

The prime minister also forcefully dismissed speculation about his own political future as leader of the New Democracy party, calling rumors that he might step down "jokes" driven by outside interests.

"Let's be serious and focus on the real issues affecting society," he said.

Mr. Mitsotakis said his immediate concern is not the next election but completing his reform agenda and implementing measures to ease the cost of living, a day after unveiling a major tax cut package.
