Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Sunday vowed to block a new sea route for irregular migration from Libya, a key issue he addressed in a weekly social media update that also covered cultural achievements and domestic reforms.
“Greece will not become an open field for illegal entry,” Mitsotakis stated, warning that Greece’s cooperation is essential for Libya's relationship with the European Union.
The prime minister also celebrated the inclusion of the Minoan Civilization on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
On domestic policy, Mitsotakis highlighted a positive EU report on Greece's rule of law and announced several reforms. These include removing nearly 290,000 inactive students from university registries and launching a digital system for patients to rate their experiences at public hospitals.
