Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a private lunch on Friday with visiting President of the Paris Region and candidate in France's spring presidential elections Valerie Pecresse.
During the lunch, the traditionally excellent Greek-French relations were reportedly reaffirmed. Mitsotakis and Pecress also talked about challenges faced by Europe at large and also by the European People's Party, of which both Greece's governing New Democracy party and the French Republican party are members. Geopolitical developments in the Eastern Mediterranean were also discussed.
Former European Commissioner for Cohesion & Reforms Michel Barnier and New Democracy's International Relations Secretary Tassos Chatzivassiliou both attended the meeting.
