Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke on the phone with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, during which they discussed the latest developments in Gaza and the West Bank.
The Greek premier expressed his deep concern over the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and stressed that any extension of hostilities is unacceptable. In addition, he conveyed Greece's position on the need for the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid, an immediate ceasefire, and the unconditional release of all hostages.
Mitsotakis also stressed the need to restart the political process aimed at achieving a two-state solution, with both states coexisting peacefully and securely.
He also reaffirmed Greece’s support for the Palestinian Authority as the only legitimate representative of the Palestinian people and expressed Greece’s willingness to carry out additional humanitarian efforts.
