Greece, Egypt and Cyprus have pledged closer coordination on regional stability, energy and migration, as Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis declared that "Greece threatens no one" following a trilateral summit at El Alamein.
Mr. Mitsotakis held a bilateral meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi before an informal trilateral session with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, calling the three-way format a "positive model" for stability in the Eastern Mediterranean amid regional conflict and realignment.
He described Greek-Egyptian relations as "a model of stability and prosperity."
On Gaza, Mr. Mitsotakis reaffirmed Greek support for a two-state solution and said Egypt would play an "irreplaceable role" in postwar reconstruction.
He pledged "undivided" Greek support for Lebanon's armed forces, backed Libyan unity while linking the country's stability to curbing irregular migration toward Greece, and said a sustainable settlement of the Cyprus problem remains essential to regional peace.
Citing Greece's 2020 maritime boundary agreement with Egypt as proof dialogue can work, Mr. Mitsotakis said stability "does not mean submissiveness or tolerance of faits accomplis," adding that Greece is prepared both to defend its positions confidently and to negotiate.
He also called the Greece-Egypt electricity interconnector strategically important and pointed to plans to route Cypriot natural gas through Egyptian infrastructure to European markets.
Mr. Christodoulides said Cyprus, Greece and Egypt have built a "stable framework" since 2014 resting on stability, security, connectivity and cooperation, and voiced support for de-escalation and a peaceful end to regional hostilities.
Mr. el-Sissi called the trilateral format "a model of regional coordination," highlighting the electricity link with Greece as key to regional energy integration and reaffirming cooperation with Cyprus on gas exports.
He called for a political solution in Libya, the withdrawal of foreign forces, and the preservation of Syria's unity and territorial integrity.
