Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis focused his weekly address Sunday on the wave of wildfires that began Saturday, hailing the efforts of emergency responders and pledging aid to those affected.
Mr. Mitsotakis described the nationwide firefighting effort as a “titanic battle” and assured citizens who lost property that the state would support their recovery.
He also outlined several key government initiatives, including the establishment of two vast new National Marine Parks, which he said would be the largest of their kind in the Mediterranean.
The prime minister’s update also covered the "Agenda 2030" military modernization program, a new national water security plan, and social reforms in education and support for people with disabilities.
