Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis attended on Wednesday evening the book presentation edited by New Democracy MP and Associate Professor of Law at the European University Cyprus, Euripides Stylianides, entitled "Artificial Intelligence: Human Rights, Democracy & Rule of Law", held at the Athens Conservatoire.
Greek Premier said that AI is changing everything in our lives and is likely to be a technological revolution very different from all previous ones. He described AI as a significant challenge, particularly with regard to the labour market.
He noted that Greece already has a coherent and very well-structured strategy on AI issues. "We have already identified policy areas, such as civil protection, health, and national defence, where AI can play a very important role at the public policy level," he said, referring to issues of youth addiction, the internet, and Artificial Intelligence applications.
Mitsotakis highlighted the impact of deep fakes on the quality of democracy, "which are already here and will affect our elections and how we are facing these challenges to the very functioning of our democracy" and referred to Artificial Intelligence and the constitutional review, a process – as he said – which will start this parliamentary term.
