Police clashed with protestors at a student-teacher rally in central Athens on Thursday, which was held to oppose a bill allowing the foundation of private, non-profit universities in Greece.
The incident erupted in the afternoon, when a group of protestors attempted to break through the police cordon on Vassilisis Sofias Avenue, near the flower shops next to the Parliament.
According to Hellenic Police, the protestors attacked police officers with wooden shafts and they responded with the use of tear gas.
