The blaze erupted just before midnight on the fourth floor of the building at 50 Marnis St., sending flames visible from the street as firefighters rushed to the scene.
Authorities confirmed four people were evacuated, though the exact number of injured remains under assessment.
Eighteen firefighters backed by seven vehicles brought the fire under partial control by early Thursday.
Police have cordoned off the area, suspending traffic as National Ambulance Service crews treated victims on site.
