Greek meteorologist Yiannis Kallianos has released a detailed city-by-city forecast for the country's upcoming heat wave, describing it as "10 cities, 10 different pictures of a mild-to-moderate heat wave," with temperature graphs covering Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Heraklion, Larissa, Ioannina, Volos, Alexandroupoli, Nafplio and Rhodes.
"The temperatures shown reflect today's forecast picture. As is natural, there may be small variations in the coming days.
The overall picture, however, is expected to remain the same," Mr. Kallianos wrote.
He cautioned that forecasts for Thursday and Friday in particular should be treated with some reservation, given how far off those days still are, noting the outlook could shift slightly as the week progresses.
The forecast comes as Greece braces for its first major heat wave of the summer, with temperatures expected to climb into the high 30s and low 40s Celsius in several regions over the coming days, prompting renewed public health advisories from Greek authorities.
