The 85-metre mega-yacht Solandge has docked in the port of Symi, drawing attention from onlookers as the ultra-luxury vessel arrived under tight privacy and security arrangements.
The yacht, owned by Saudi Arabian Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, is understood to be cruising the Dodecanese islands and the nearby Turkish coast with a Russian businessman on board. Local sources said the charterer has insisted on strict privacy measures throughout the voyage.
With a weekly charter price of 1.15 million euros, or about 1.24 million dollars, Solandge is among the most expensive private yachts operating in the region. Its appearance in Symi quickly became a talking point among residents and visitors, many of whom gathered at the harbour to catch a glimpse of the vessel.
Built as a floating showcase of luxury, the six-deck yacht includes a spa with a massage suite, hydrotherapy bath, sauna and steam room. Guests also have access to a gym, beauty salon, outdoor glass-edged plunge pool and two Jacuzzis, including one on the owner’s deck.
Entertainment facilities include a top-deck dance floor, firepit and bar, a cinema and a karaoke system. A 15-metre “Tree of Life” sculpture, lit by 1,400 light points, rises through the central lobby elevator shaft.
For shore excursions and water sports, the yacht carries support craft including an 11-metre Fjord cruiser, jet skis and scuba equipment.
The vessel’s brief stay added a flash of high-end spectacle to the island’s harbour, where the arrival of such a rare and extravagant guest is not easily missed.
