Capital Maritime Finance Corp. (CMF) is preparing the first shipping company IPO in Greek market history, with plans to list its entire share capital exclusively on Euronext Athens — a move seen as a landmark step toward establishing the Greek capital as a global shipping finance hub.
The company, controlled by shipping magnate Vangelis Marinakis, aims to raise up to €200 million through the offering, with proceeds earmarked for its newbuilding program and working capital needs.
CMF's fleet, once fully delivered, will comprise 36 containerships — 13 already in operation and 23 under construction — with an average fleet age of just two years, among the youngest in the industry.
The entire fleet is fully chartered through 2034, backed by long-term, take-or-pay contracts with major liner operators including CMA CGM, the world's third-largest container shipping line, and Unifeeder, a subsidiary of DP World.
Combined contracted revenue stands at $3.9 billion, with an average remaining charter duration of 9.5 years as of June 30.
The fleet includes vessels with dual-fuel LNG capability, positioning the company to meet tightening IMO and EU emissions regulations.
Management plans to begin quarterly dividend distributions starting in the first quarter of 2027.
