A nationwide manhunt is underway in Greece for a 40-year-old man with a long criminal record who allegedly stabbed his wife to death in front of their children at their home in the city of Volos.
The couple’s 16-year-old daughter called the police around 11 a.m., reporting that her father had attacked her mother during an intense argument.
Officers arrived to find the 36-year-old woman’s body with fatal wounds at the entrance of their apartment building.
Police said there was no official history of domestic violence reports between the couple. However, the suspect has a significant criminal record, including a 2020 prison sentence for participation in a criminal organization and drug offenses.
Authorities also noted that as recently as June 2025, the man was ordered by a prosecutor to undergo a psychiatric evaluation after a suicide attempt and was deemed in need of hospitalization.
The search for the suspect is ongoing.
