A makeshift bomb exploded outside a building housing offices of the Ministry of Agricultural Development in central Athens, causing material damage but no injuries, police said.
The blast occurred at 10:50 p.m. on Syngrou Avenue. According to police sources, the device was composed of small camping gas canisters.
Video footage reportedly shows two individuals placing the device at the building's entrance moments before the explosion.
The attack shattered glass and left scorch marks on the building's exterior.
No one has claimed responsibility, but the incident bears the hallmarks of previous low-intensity bombings carried out by self-styled anarchist and anti-state groups in Athens.
Forensic and bomb disposal units responded to the scene, and an investigation is underway.
