Kasselakis: Everyone acting as though the 650 souls in the Pylos shipwreck never existed

Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Stefanos Kasselakis on Tuesday commented on the disastrous shipwreck of a migrant boat off the coast of Pylos on June 14, 2023, in which some 650 people lost their lives, in a post on the social media platform X.

Posting a video of SYRIZA MP and sector chief Alexandros Avlonitis addressing Parliament on the issue, Kasselakis noted that Avlonitis "is saying the self-evident, but which in our country is not heard."

"Six hundred and fifty souls off Pylos, and yet everyone is acting as if they did not exist," he said. "Then we wonder why the European Parliament condemns us for a 'rule of law' that is close to becoming a phrase without meaning," he concluded.
