By contrast, an international voyage over five times the distance across the Adriatic Sea from Igoumenitsa to Bari, Italy, costs just €52, while a crossing from Patras to Bari sits at €75.80.
Glaring price disparities also impact main routes out of the capital.
Tickets departing Piraeus for Santorini have reached nearly €90, while fares to Mykonos top €87.
Meanwhile, travelers can endure a grueling, eight-hour conventional journey from Paros to Milos for €12, or opt for a high-speed catamaran route that skyrockets to nearly €90 for the exact same destination.
