An international criminal organisation has been dismantled by the Greek Police. Its members were involved in transporting significant quantities of narcotics, primarily cocaine, to European countries, including Greece.

During simultaneous police operations conducted on August 28, 2025, two Greek nationals, aged 52 and 62, were arrested in northern Greece, while in Germany, one Greek and two foreign nationals, aged 66, 28, and 27 respectively, were also apprehended and charged. Additionally, the case file includes two other individuals, aged 53 and 57, as well as other persons whose identities have not yet been established.

According to the Greek police, following information provided by the DEA Office of the U.S. Embassy in Athens, cooperation was established with German authorities regarding the activities of this international criminal organisation.

During the investigation police found and seized 300 kilograms of cocaine, 31.03 grams of cocaine, 19.4 grams of raw cannabis, 2 precision electronic scales, 1 mobile phone, 4 mobile phone packaging boxes, a van and 38,980 euros cash.

The Greek police said that the illegal financial gain accrued by the organisation’s members exceeds 5,000,000 euros. The accused have previous records for similar and other offences.

The arrested individuals were brought before the competent public prosecutor and referred to a judicial investigator.
