According to the National Meteorological Service forecast for Wednesday, heavy rain and storms are expected in some areas of the Ionian Islands (Corfu and Lefkada), in Epirus (Thesprotia, Preveza, Ioannina and Arta), in western mainland Greece (Aetolia and Acarnania), in eastern Macedonia and Thrace, and from the evening hours in western and southern Peloponnese.
In the rest of the country, there will be increased cloud cover at times, with local rain and isolated thunderstorms. Snow will fall in the north-western mountains. Winds will blow from the south at 5 to 7 Beaufort, in the Aegean at 7 to 8 Beaufort, and locally at 9 Beaufort. Temperatures will rise slightly in the east.
They will reach 18 to 19C in the northern Ionian Sea and the central and northern mainland (12 to 15C in the north-west), 19 to 21C in the rest of the country, and locally 22 to 23C in the southern islands.
