Deputy Foreign Minister responsible for Economic Diplomacy and Extroversion Tasos Hatzivasileiou paid a visit to Kiev on June 1 and 2, accompanied by Secretary General for International Economic Relations and Extroversion Dimitris Skalkos, heading a business mission of leading Greek companies.
According to a ministry statement, Hatzivasileiou addressed the first Greek-Ukraine Business Forum taking place after the Russian invasion. The deputy minister reaffirmed Greece's steady support to Ukraine as it defends itself. He referred to Greece's readiness to actively participate in the rebuilding of critical infrastructure of the much-suffering country, especially in the sectors of health, energy, and transport. He pointed out the Ukraine's reconstruction may bring mutual benefits and become a model of sustainable recovery.
Participating at the Business Forum - organized by the Foreign Affairs Minister and Enterprise Greece in collaboration with the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the European Business Association, and the American Chamber of Commerce - were high-level business officers active in the sectors of energy, networks, security, construction, and infrastructure.
In the Forum's context, Hatzivasileiou met with Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Yevhhen Perebyinis, Deputy Minister for development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Maryna Denysiuk, and Deputy Energy Minister Roman Andarak, with all of whom he discussed prospects of Greek companies participating in Ukraine's rebuilding.
Lastly, Hatzivasileiou met with Ukrainian Deputy Health Minister Edem Adamanov, with whom they discussed the needs to develop and reconstruct hospitals in Ukraine. During the meeting, the two deputy ministers signed a Greece-Ukraine Memorandum of Cooperation, which sets the framework for future bilateral relations and regulations inthe health sector.
