Greek stocks ended higher on the Athens Stock Exchange on Wednesday pushing the general index of the market to the highest closing since April 21, 2010 (1,936 points).
The index rose 0.47% to close at 1,893.97 points, off the session's high of 1,897.11 points.
The Large Cap index ended 0.44% higher and the Mid Cap index rose 0.62%. Turnover was 307.24 million euros, in volume of 65,514,800.
Viochalco (6.26%), Elvalhalcor (3.63%) and Motor Oil (2.60%) scored big gains among blue chip stocks, while HelleniQ Energy (-5.80%), Piraeus Port (-2.28%) and Sarantis (-1.41%) suffered losses. Eurobank and Alpha Bank were the most heavily traded securities of the day.
Broadly, advancers led decliners by 58 to 42, with another 23 issues unchanged.
ATHEXGROUP (15.42%) and Mouzakis (9.76%) were top gainers, while Intralot (-6.03%) and HelleniQ Energy (-5.80%) were top losers.
