Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has stressed the crucial role of the United States in resolving the war in Ukraine and called for an immediate ceasefire, stating that only Ukraine has the sovereign right to make decisions about its territorial integrity.
Mr. Mitsotakis made the remarks during a high-level teleconference with other European leaders held at the initiative of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany to discuss the ongoing conflict.
The prime minister emphasized that achieving a ceasefire is the "foremost priority" and reaffirmed Greece’s position that international borders cannot be altered by force.
The call reflects ongoing diplomatic efforts by European allies to coordinate their support for Ukraine and to advocate for a just and lasting peace that respects the country's sovereignty.
