Greece's minimum wage is set to reach €1,000, with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis expected to announce the increase Saturday during his annual policy address at the Thessaloniki International Fair, according to sources.
Mr. Mitsotakis had previously signaled the minimum wage would exceed €950 by 2027; the latest figures suggest an increase of €75 from current levels.
Sources say Mr. Mitsotakis will place particular emphasis on housing, unveiling a new "My Home 3" program with improved financing terms. The broader package of measures is expected to target multiple social groups, including increased support for large families, with officials also examining whether families with three children could receive benefits currently reserved for larger families.
Additional measures for farmers are also expected.
Pension and family support increases are also anticipated, continuing the government's pattern of using its Thessaloniki address to unveil the year's major economic announcements.
