Greece will see sunshine and near-record warmth this weekend before a shift toward rain early next week, meteorologist Sakis Arnaoutoglou said in his latest forecast.

Mr. Arnaoutoglou said Friday will bring clear skies to most of the country, with moderate winds reaching around 5 on the Beaufort scale in the Aegean and 3 in the Ionian, and temperatures holding near seasonal norms between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius.

Saturday will bring scattered rain to Central Macedonia, heaviest around midday, while temperatures climb to 33 degrees in Thessaly and around 32 in Epirus and western Greece. Sunday will see stronger winds and heavy rain in Western Macedonia during the afternoon, with highs still reaching 33 degrees in western Greece, Epirus and Thessaly.

Temperatures will climb further Monday, reaching 34 degrees in Thessaly and 33 in the Peloponnese and Central Macedonia, even as scattered rain develops in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace during the afternoon.

Mr. Arnaoutoglou said the broader shift arrives Tuesday, when rain is expected to spread across most of the country, marking a more significant change in the overall weather pattern for the week ahead.
