“Greece, quite like other European countries, is heading top records of covid cases, the government has taken all measures to strengthen the NHS," the minister said, noting that the number of ICUs Covid beds has doubled to 1.300, while the capacity was enhanced thanks to new auxiliary doctors and 12.000 auxiliary staff.

We have worked towards strengthening the NHS "we have come into full consultation with private clinics, beds have been allocated for Covid cases, doctors are given incentives to join the national health system_we are working on building a solid strong national health system, by all means”.

Thanos Plevris points vaccination as the only way out

“The risk is estimated as thirty times higher for the unvaccinated population, the rate of the unvaccinated hospitalised in ICU is that of 85%, namely according to all indicators of heavy hospitalisation the unvaccinated are running miles apart from the risk covid poses to the vaccinated population.

“Science will be doing the talking and good sense will prevail, further lock down restrictions are not to be imposed. Sound public presentation of the collected medical data is favoured, as more appropriate approach to the public”.

There was talk around that the government is planning a full spectrum sms campaign, addressed to the unvaccinated citizens carrying an on line health insurance number.

Restriction measures imposed on unvaccinated citizens are to be put forward” the minister said, “only to protect the very group of people from the infection”.

Restrictions to be applied from Saturday 6 Nov. onwards

The following additional adjustment measures will be implemented by a new EIA as of November 6:
Obligation for two tests (rapid or molecular) for all unvaccinated persons coming to work, including clergy/ churches.

Access to public services, banks, flee markets, shops will be allowed upon a PCR molecular test.

There will be no need for diagnostic testing for unvaccinated persons visiting supermarkets, pharmacies and carrying out religious duties.

Fining is upgraded, even doubled. Fines will be heading from 5.000 euros upwards, only to be followed by a 10 days lock down of the shop that does not abide. There will be an online list of the shops that violate the law, control will be intensified, no room will be left for double talk for those who do not comply with the measures, plus a list of the shops that will be violating the measures is to be running on line.

Sport arenas’ host teams will be penalised in case spectators will be attending without use of facial mask_the penalty being a ban on having them on the game.

"It is obvious we are working on strengthening the NHS, we have taken all measures to strengthen the system, but it is necessary to get numbers of full acceptance. Vaccination is today’s scientific approach, the only way we have got, to be respected and followed." Thanos Plevris concluded.

All cases, 100%, have been named of the Delta mutation. Countries with similar populations, such as Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria and the Czech Republic paint a similar picture," Mr. Zaoutis said.

“Data of 420.000 tests prove a positivity rate of 1.6%. 2.832 citizens are hospitalized and 434 are intubated. The rolling 7-day average hospitalisation rate is 280 per day."

The vaccine has been tested worldwide, the six months medical scheme should be followed.”
