The Greek national team led the Parade of Nations on Friday, kicking off the 2026 Winter Olympics with a historic opening ceremony staged simultaneously across four venues.
Cross-country skier Nefeli Tita served as flag-bearer for the delegation in Cortina d’Ampezzo, upholding the tradition of Greece entering first to honor the ancient origins of the Games.
Tita was accompanied by alpine skiers AJ Ginnis and Maria Eleni Tsiovolou, along with cross-country skiers Apostolos Angelis and Konstantina Charalampidou.
Organizers split the parade across four locations—a logistical first intended to allow more spectators to witness the start of the XXV Winter Games.
More than 2,900 athletes from around the world have arrived in Italy for the event.
They will compete for medals in 116 events across 16 sports in Milan and the Dolomites over the next two weeks.
