Greece will see a brief break from the recent stormy weather, with conditions improving gradually through Monday and Tuesday before a new system moves in from the west, meteorologist Sakis Arnaoutoglou forecast.
Monday will bring noticeably better conditions across most of the country, Mr. Arnaoutoglou said, with lingering showers in Crete and the Dodecanese easing through the day.
Tuesday's improvement will be more widespread, with most regions free of significant weather. Only Kastellorizo may see local showers through the morning.
The respite will be short-lived. A new weather change is expected from Wednesday evening, with the first rain arriving in western Greece and intensifying Thursday.
A front sweeping central Europe is forecast to move east, potentially bringing locally heavier rain to other parts of the country around Oct. 9 and 10.
Mr. Arnaoutoglou said the disturbance does not appear to be long-lasting, with improvement expected to come relatively quickly from west to east.
Winds across the Aegean will weaken noticeably Wednesday and Thursday, while western Greece will see southerly winds as rain arrives.
Humidity is set to rise, bringing a chance of morning fog in central and northern areas, while temperatures will climb again to 25 to 27 degrees Celsius locally on Wednesday and Thursday.
