Greek Foreign Affairs Minister George Gerapetritis is visiting New York as of Monday (May 19) to Thursday (May 22).
On Tuesday (May 20), Gerapetritis will attend a high-level open debate at the UN Security Council under the 'Maintenance of international peace and security' agenda item that will be chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The event is in the context of Greece's presidency of the UN Security Council in May. Following this, the FM will attend the opening of a painting exhibition on the sea, 'Thalatta', held by the Greek presidency.
The same day, Gerapetritis will also participate in Mitsotakis' meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
On Wednesday (May 21), the foreign minister will chair the Security Council meeting on Syria, delivering the Greek intervention.
On Thursday (May 22), Gerapetritis will chair the Security Council meeting on protecting civilians in armed conflicts, delivering the Greek intervention.
