Greece's foreign ministry on Sunday hailed the agreement signed by Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the role of the United States in brokering the deal, in a post on the social media platform X.
"Greece welcomes the announced agreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan as a significant step towards ending decades of conflict in South Caucasus.
"We commend both sides and the US Administration for making progress towards the normalisation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan possible," the ministry's post said, adding:
"The signing and ratification of a final Peace Treaty between the two countries will be the necessary next step for ensuring lasting peace and prosperity, with full respect of sovereignty and territorial integrity as the guiding principles."
